Come celebrate Juneteenth in Montevallo at George Dailey Park!
The City of Montevallo’s Parks & Recreation Board will host their 3rd Annual Juneteenth Celebration from 10 AM – 1 PM at George Dailey Park (245 Selma Road) on Thursday, June 19. This free-admission event will feature a program, live musical and dance performances, children’s activities, community organizations, and the unveiling of the Selma Road Black Business District historical marker.

Sunday, May 4, 2025, a beautiful, blue-skied afternoon—just right for a community celebration. The Montevallo Legacy Project (MLP) and City of Montevallo partnered to unveil three new markers on the Montevallo African American Heritage Trail.



Three new sites join Montevallo’s African American Heritage Trail
On Sunday, May 4th, a dedication ceremony will honor three new historic markers along the Montevallo African American Heritage Trail: Epsibeth Missionary Baptist Church in Aldrich, Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Almont, and the historic ‘Little School’ on Island Street. The event will conclude with a reception at Parnell Memorial Library.
